It was so great to have Mom and Angie over last weekend. As soon as they put their bags down, we pretty much rushed over to the game so that we could get some tailgating in beforehand. My sorority put on a delicious Vitek's-catered tailgate for Parents Weekend. Thank goodness they did, because I had planned to just take my family to Vitek's before the game, but it was PACKED. I guess parents just can't stay away from a good gut pak. The football game was dreadfully boring after the first half, except for RGIII. That guy is definitely a reason to watch a boring blowout. Mom and Angie indulged me by staying through the whole game.
In an attempt to try to expose my family to as many Baylor/Waco-exclusive things as possible over the weekend, we continued our night out at Sam's. Their house salsa, salsa verde, and brisket tacos were definitely family favorites. When dad comes down, he will definitely have to come here.
Sunday, we made some pancakes for breakfast and lazed about the house for a bit. Lunch was at Shorty's Pizza Shack, another local favorite of mine. This also got favorable reviews form the fam. After this wonderful lunch, we hopped on over to Baylor's campus. Our first stop was Harts and Crafts. That store can keep people busy for hours. By the time we left there, we only had a few minutes left to walk around campus to take pictures before they went home. Hopefully, they'll come down again sometime soon so that we can actually walk around all of Baylor.
After they left, I went to see The Lion King in 3-D with Bethany and Amanda. Something about it made me kind of sad. I miss my family. I miss watching Disney movies on repeat. I know that I am a senior in college, and that it is about time for me to go out on my own for real, but I feel like it's not time for me to be a grown-up yet.
